about
on march 23, the ever given, one of the largest container ships in the world, was blown off course and got wedged across the suez canal, blocking a 10% of global trade
on march 24th, janie texted june the outline to a song about this very relatable boat and they spent the next day writing and recording it
on march 28th the boat got unstuck from the canal, but its still forever stuck in our hearts
lyrics
Lyrics:
Theres a ship stuck in the Suez canal
And its me and my name is the ever-given
Im a quarter mile long
and i can break through ice caps but apparently not sand
They say that I am blocking 10 percent of all global trade
Ive had a rough time lately and this ca-nal wall’s a nice change of pace
But they’re using every tug boat in the world to pull me free
I just won’t move im telling you
So you might as well leave me be
I think im gonna be here for a while
Yeah I think im gonna be here for a while
WellI think im gonna be here for a while

Jack is a master of the sublte. Epic in scale and delicate in delivery, often turning emotions on a short sequence of notes. I wish they would embrace singing more as well because The Balad of Sister Rust and Tell Me are both incredible examples of their talent and ability. hazelforgotten

ALL BANGERS NO SKIPS! the minimal amount of melodic resolution keeps each piece boppin along while keeping the good good horror sound. part of one of my favorite subgenres "rusty farm core" rancidmice

My brain is, at any given moment, replaying Austin Walker saying "So, there's this train..." and this music increases that probability by at least 70%. vincentavatar
